Sure different people show up each week, but in ours, there’s a core group that are always there. There’s always going to be fringe dwellers. They don’t affect the actual mastermind group.

As for being “run by a guru” – our group is “run” by Andrea Warner, which basically means she does a 10 minute speel and gets us thinking about a certain topic. I find it helps focus the group discussion that follows for the 80 minutes after that. In our group, there have been some fairly significant breakthroughs in people’s business as we all focused on a particular area and essentially beat the topic to death.

I’ve been put into small groups the way you’re suggesting and it’s just setting up for failure. Particularly if everyone is at the same level and you can only meet virtually. You have a group of people who don’t know each other and told – hey, go run the group yourself and trust each other from the start. No. My opinion is you need someone perceived to be in authority who can bring the elements of the group together.

I’ve also got a business mastermind of people who live near me (none of whom have heard of Stompernet or run an internet business), which is fantastic, but it only works because we can physically meet.

Before you ask – no I’m not writing on behalf of Stompernet or anything. I comment to give your readers another perspective. I value my mastermind group so much that I’m prepared to meet at 5am my time every fortnight (and I’m a night owl!).

I’m sorry your group isn’t all you wish it to be, but maybe you should switch if it means that much to you – there are Stompernet masterminds that are working very well.
