Discipline and constraint.
A lot of us are very angry because we were forced.
Our autonomy was violated.
Violated by our families.
Violated by the school system.
Violated by the government.
Violated by our bosses and the financial system.
We were told what to do and how to do it, and not by people who actually were interested in our well-being.
And for that reason, We don't want to give up any of our autonomy.
This can end up being very prideful.
We don't let anyone else tell us what to do.
We don't let anyone else tell us what to think.
And in an extreme level, it prevents any sort of collaboration, cooperation, and, tragically, often companionship.
It also keeps us from getting what we want.
I just heard from a man who had the idea of "ten ten forever".
Work together closely with ten people for ten years and then collaborate, continuously.
Another billionaire said his five closest friends are responsible for 95 percent of his wealth.
Those who are necessary for us reaching our goals are all around us.
But if we put up walls to prevent ourselves from losing freedom or whatever it is we think we're going to lose, we may be physically prevented from accomplishing the things that we want to accomplish.
